Margins is a macOS sticky-note application developed by foryou, inc. This policy explains what data the app handles, where that data is stored, and what choices you have.
Margins は、株式会社フォーユーが開発する macOS 向けの付箋アプリです。本ポリシーは、アプリが扱うデータの種類、保存場所、そしてユーザーが選択できる事項について説明します。
1. Data Handled / 取り扱うデータ
Margins handles only the data you create inside the app:
- Memo content (text, rich-text formatting, and images you drop into memos)
- Board names and the memos that belong to each board
- The position, size, color, and pin state of each memo on the canvas
- App preferences such as handle edge, palette size, and hotkey
Margins does not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information
- Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or analytics
- Crash reports, telemetry, or usage statistics
- Location data
- Contacts, calendars, photos library, or any other system data
There is no sign-up, no account, and no login.
Margins が扱うのは、ユーザーがアプリ内で作成したデータのみです。
- メモの内容（テキスト、リッチテキストの書式、メモに貼り付けた画像）
- ボード名、および各ボードに属するメモ
- キャンバス上の各メモの位置、サイズ、色、ピン留め状態
- ハンドルの表示位置、パレットサイズ、ホットキーなどのアプリ設定
Margins は以下を収集しません：
- 氏名、メールアドレス、電話番号、その他のアカウント情報
- デバイス識別子、広告識別子、解析データ
- クラッシュレポート、テレメトリ、使用統計
- 位置情報
- 連絡先、カレンダー、写真ライブラリ、その他のシステムデータ
アカウント登録、サインアップ、ログインは一切ありません。
2. Data Storage Location / データの保存場所
All memo data is stored as a single JSON file (memos.json) on your Mac:
- Local copy: inside the Margins App Sandbox container on your device.
- iCloud Drive copy (optional): if you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled, the same file is also kept in your personal iCloud Drive under the Margins container (
iCloud.com.margins.app). This lets Margins sync between your own Macs.
Images you drop into memos are embedded inside the rich-text data of each memo and stored in the same file. Nothing is uploaded to any server operated by the developer.
If you sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud Drive for Margins in System Settings, the iCloud copy is no longer used and Margins continues to work with the local copy only.
すべてのメモデータは、Mac 上の単一の JSON ファイル（memos.json）として保存されます。
- ローカル保存：お使いの Mac の Margins サンドボックスコンテナ内に保存されます。
- iCloud Drive 保存（任意）：iCloud にサインインし iCloud Drive が有効になっている場合、同じファイルがあなた個人の iCloud Drive 上の Margins コンテナ（

iCloud からサインアウトしたり、システム設定で Margins の iCloud Drive を無効にした場合、iCloud 側のコピーは使用されず、ローカルコピーのみで動作を継続します。
3. No Developer-Operated Servers / 開発者のサーバーは存在しません
Margins has no backend. The developer does not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your memos. Your data never reaches a system controlled by the developer.
iCloud sync is performed entirely between your devices and Apple’s iCloud Drive — the developer has no access to your iCloud container.
Margins にバックエンドはありません。開発者は、ユーザーのメモを受信・保存・処理するサーバーを一切運用していません。あなたのデータが開発者の管理するシステムに到達することはありません。
iCloud 同期は、あなたのデバイスと Apple の iCloud Drive の間で完結します。開発者はあなたの iCloud コンテナにアクセスできません。
4. Third-Party Services / 第三者サービス
Margins relies on two Apple-provided services:
- Apple iCloud Drive — used to sync
memos.jsonbetween your own Macs. Governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. - Apple App Store / StoreKit — used to process the optional monthly subscription (¥100/month with a 7-day free trial). Purchase and renewal information is handled entirely by Apple. The developer receives only anonymized sales reports from App Store Connect and never sees your payment details.
No other third-party services, SDKs, analytics, or trackers are bundled with Margins.
Margins は、Apple が提供する以下 2 つのサービスを利用します。
- Apple iCloud Drive —

その他の第三者サービス、SDK、解析ツール、トラッカーは一切組み込まれていません。
5. Children’s Privacy / 子どものプライバシー
Margins is a general-purpose note-taking app and does not target children. Because the app collects no personal information at all, no data about children (or any other user) is gathered.
Margins は汎用のメモアプリであり、子ども向けに設計されたものではありません。アプリは個人情報を一切収集しないため、子ども（およびその他のユーザー）に関するデータが収集されることもありません。
6. Data Deletion / データの削除
You can delete your data at any time:
- Local data: delete the Margins app, or remove its container at
~/Library/Containers/com.margins.app/. - iCloud data: open iCloud Drive in Finder and delete the
Margins(oriCloud.com.margins.app) folder. You can also disable Margins under System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Drive.
Because there is no server, removing these files deletes your data completely.
データはいつでも削除できます。
- ローカルデータ：Margins アプリを削除するか、コンテナフォルダ
~/Library/Containers/com.margins.app/を削除してください。 - iCloud データ：Finder で iCloud Drive を開き、
Margins（またはiCloud.com.margins.app）フォルダを削除してください。システム設定 → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Drive から Margins を無効化することもできます。
サーバーは存在しないため、これらのファイルを削除すればあなたのデータは完全に消去されます。
Cancelling the Subscription / サブスクリプションの解約
The monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time from System Settings → Your Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Manage → Subscriptions, or from the App Store app on iPhone/iPad. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current paid period remains active until it expires.
月額サブスクリプションは、システム設定 → Apple ID → メディアと購入 → 管理 → サブスクリプション、または iPhone / iPad の App Store アプリからいつでも解約できます。解約すると以降の自動更新が停止し、すでに支払い済みの期間は期限まで継続して利用できます。
7. Policy Changes / ポリシーの変更
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Margins after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
本ポリシーに重要な変更がある場合、新しい「最終更新日」とともに更新版をこのページに掲載します。変更後も Margins の利用を継続した場合、改定後のポリシーに同意したものとみなされます。
